What’s A Name?

And she grew when the children began calling her by her name and not, “Hey, you,” as they had been taught. Her stumps grew limbs that embraced the ones who had cut them off, but only after they slept for she knew her blessing would stunt them.  Her heart beat once more to the rhythm of the ancients.  And her smile pierced the darkness so the children could read by its light before bedtime.
